    We aren't at that point yet. But if this administration gets a second term maybe.
    Even then, I don't think Americans as a whole have the balls for rebellion anymore. Especially not when liberty is taken slowly rather than in one move.

    I think it's a cyclic thing. That's why we study history, right? It repeats itself. We, our country, will be ruled by tyrants at some point in time. There will be another revolution. There will be a long period of dishevelment after the revolution. Followed by a period of austerity. Then it will all happen again.

    This all assumes a intrinsic wealth of natural resources. Places without natural resources never seem to reach austerity, except perhaps Greece. They are the exception to my little theory. Nothing but rocks and olives, yet they excelled.

    They are still a lot of sneaky rich Greeks. There is a cautionary lesson to be learned from the Greek Crisis. They have/had an extraordinarily bloated public sector and they essentially made paying taxes optional.
