Well, this anti-gun thing isn't anything new for the Brits. They allowed their f'd up gun laws to get them in serious trouble the last time the Germans decided to get a little restless- and stooped to BEGGING American gun owners to send them firearms to defend themselves when the wolf was at the door.

    Amazing. :dunno:

Wow. Thank you for that one. Never had heard of it but am glad that I have now.

I can believe anything of the British. Several years ago I went with a military shooting team to Bisley Camp (home of the British NRA) in the UK to compete in the British Reserve Forces Skill At Arms Meeting. Prominently displayed in the inn on Post where we stayed was a comment on the legislation which had severely restricted firearms. There is no private ownership of handguns, and rifle shooting is limited as to type of weapon (Bolt-action only, I think). It appeared that even privately owned rifles had to be locked up in a vault at Bisley, and only able to be removed for matches and designated training. Rules were so strict that we were not even allowed to bring our military issue weapons, rather had to use weapons provided by the host country, set up and waiting for us on the firing lines. Their country, their rules, interesting to visit but not somewhere I'd want to live. YMMV
