I would like to build or buy an ar-15. For my budget building seems like the way to go. If anyone on here could help me out with a guide or tips where I could buy good cheap parts other than cheaperthandirt.commid appreciate it.

If possible I'd like to keep the total build to under 700 or 800. I can add other accessories later but just for the basic rifle.
I just ordered my first AR, and was on same budget. If I wouldnt have found a Troy defense for $799, I was going to get a PSA for $699(Pelican Pawn in Denham has them, not sure of other prices though, he is also a site sponsor)

Palmettostatearmory.com is a great source for budget parts and uppers.
For your first build, I'd recommend you buy a complete upper and build the lower.

Just add your own lower receiver. There are some upgrades I would like, such as a DD A1.5 rear sight instead of the magpul, and maybe a better charging handle, but that's a barebones decent carbine right there, to start with.
Sorry if some of those links expired - it's kind of my go-to copy/paste for a good but affordable AR15 without breaking the bank. I no longer shop with PSA due to deplorable Customer Service experience but that's mostly personal - others report it being fine, though ship times have increased due to volume of sales. BCM is still top freaking notch.
If some things are out of stock or expired links, it gives you a rough estimate and places to look, at least.

The hardest part to get right now is the BCG.
RGuns shows them in stock, but shipping is slow right now.
I ordered 3 on Nov. 15, shipping label was created on Nov. 16, and it still hasn't shipped.
PSA is also a little slow on uppers right now.
I ordered 3 uppers on Nov. 7 and I'm still waiting on them to ship.
They had a big sale after Thanksgiving and are probably even more backed up now.

UPDATE: BCGs shipped last night and should arrive on Monday. So 13 days from order to shipped.
