Got tired of being poked in a fat roll by the inner side of my LAG holster for my G22 (this is similar design to a few other IWB holsters) so I decided to make a slight modification. In original form there is a tang which goes up almost to the back of the slide, with a channel for the slide catch the entire way. The slide catch mold kept poking me, particularly if I was sitting, so it had to go. The retention is not affected and it is MUCH more comfortable to carry without being abraded all the time. I trimmed the inner cover down to more closely mimic the outer cover, without sacrificing any of the retention points or safety margin. It works very well for me clipped onto my inner belt and then supported by the outer belt, draw is clean and without any snags or errant motion from the holster.

Cutting off the sweat guard will not affect retention.

The clip near the trigger guard looks like it blocks your ability to get a full grip.

It's normally angled the other direction when it's on my belt so I can get all my fingers on the grip.

    Makes more sense that way.

I like half sweat guards on most guns. Sometimes full sweatguards get in the way, like you've experienced.

I carry a full size gun every day off duty in a RCS IWB or OWB holster depending on what I'm wearing or where I'm going.

The RCS holsters have served me well, and it's a big plus having adjustable and replaceable belt attachments.

That local holster with the molded belt attachment that offers no adjustment is not something that I can get on board with.
