A woman goes out dressed very sexy, exposing a lot cleavage, etc. She gets raped. Arrest her as accessory, she kicked the top of an anthill.

as a Christian, i wouldn't have protested, because if the objective it to win souls for Christ, you should act Christ-like...

I think a better analogy would be going into a bar, screaming at some drunk guy, then getting upset when you are punched in the face. Sure it's your freedom of speech, but that doesn't make it the right thing to do, you won't be getting my sympathy, and to call that Christian is wrong.

Is your solution to arrest the screamer and let the drunk go free?

Actually it was the right analogy. What she did led to a foreseeable result. They did not scream or even speak to people at the festival. It was entirely visible stimulus just as hers was.

They were not just scriptures. They were more inflammatory then that.

If these "Protestors" want to incite a riot, I guess that's their business, but it's the Police's job to try to ensure that the riot doesn't happen. The most effective way to do that is to remove the presence that is inciting the riot. I don't expect the police to risk their safety over you wanting to be stupid and start a religious war. I don't think it's the responsibility of the Police to save people from their own stupidity. I just don't.

What those "protestors" did was akin to kicking the top off an anthill then videotaping the ants reacting and using it as "evidence" that ants are dangerous. Listen, we all know ants bite. It's common sense.

I'd say this group isn't very far from the Westboro baptist Church. Religious zealots designed to anger people for a reaction.

This is a very good post. It applies to so many things.

I concede. While it was their right, it was over the top. If it was just signs, then.... They were looking for confrontation.

Honestly, I was so repulsed by the Obama thing that I tried to skip over it. I must have come in just a bit too late. Cause it seemed to drone on forever. I still can't excuse the behavior of the others.

Yeah, it seemed like they tried to edit as much of that out as they could while still trying to make the officers look bad. Im not making excuses for the Muslims, what they did was wrong, I just think that as "Christians" they should've realized their actions were morally wrong before doing them. Them acting like Christians would've solved the problem before it started.
