With manufacturers coming out every other month with NEW CC pistols, I'm curious to know what your favorite is and what are some of your thoughts on the new S&W Shield and the SA XDS45?

I LOVE the Shield, I upgraded my sights and she is a great little gun I have just about 700 rounds through her without issues. She does NOT like wolf primers though.

The biggest down side from it, is the fact that there are NO spare mags available in the market at this time and 2 are not enough IMO.

Do you have the 9mm or .40? What sights did you install on it? I'm torn between the Shield or the XDS45 right now.

I like the XDS45 because of the caliber, but I'm not crazy about the block frame design. The Shield fills really nice in my hand as today I had an opportunity to fondle one! :D Curious to know about trigger reset, groupings and does it have a lot of kick back/recoil? What ammo works best in it or have you tried many different name brands?

9mm to stay consistent with all my other guns, I tried the XS Sights on this (again) and it wasn't for me. I DO like the back sight of the XS System so I took the front off and replaced it with Ameriglos again to stay consistent to all my other guns that I would normally Conceal. As far as ammo she eats almost anything as long as you don't feed her steel cased ammo, I have ran quite a bit of HST's and Speer Gold Dots and she runs without issues as well as walmart brass cased ammo. I really like to carry it in a Raven Clone type holster its so thin you forget she is even there.

As far as trigger reset is is def better equipped from factory but she is nowhere's near an Apex Trigger, she does have more felt reset (click) than the normal M&P though. I will upgrade the trigger to an Apex as soon as it becomes available. I wouldn't hesitate to buy one, if you ever come to my area you are welcome to try her out

Love my shield also. Apex is starting to produce kits for the shield https://apextactical.com/store/product-info.php?pid65.html

i love my Walther PPK/S, for multipal reasons,
    1. It is all metal, so i know its there
    2. It conceals well in this horrible heat
    3. It is naturally accurate due to the fixed barrel
    4. It has been in my family for years
    5. The best reason of all, because it is a family heirloom, IT WAS FREE lol.

There are many great CC weapons, personally in the winter months i am comfortable concealing my commander sized 1911.

I would love to add a LCR to the family.

I realize that the LCP is probably one of the leading sellers in CCW, but I'm a BIG guy with BIG hands, and some of the smaller frame .380 and 9mm pistols are just too small for my hands. I would like to able to hold on to the pistol comfortably and not chance it.

CZ 75 Compact 9mm: Heavy as heck, but recoil is very, very mild and it's a "tack driver". It's the same size as the Glock 19 and with thin aluminum grips is thinner than the 19. Carries Cocked & Locked with 14 +1. I carry it in a Theis IWB and forget it's even there. I am prejudiced by my love for steel/metal guns and Cocked & Locked. YMMV

Also, I frequently carry a Sig P238 .380 in front pocket in a Remora holster as a back up.
