I'm registered republican but it doesn't do anything for me. I also lean libertarian.

All I care about is smaller government, lower taxes, economic and personal freedom.

"Centrist" or "moderate" or "liberal" or "socialist" all mean the same thing to me.

I'm right there with you on the code words.

I have a preference. I would prefer Hillary. I'd honestly prefer another liberal, when there is a conservative congress to cancel her out, than a big-government phony republican who will promote an expansionist plan unchecked by congress.

I did vote for Romney, and I voted for McCain, and both were a waste of my time.

    OK, that clears things up.

This is a far different election. McCain and Romney were hand picked by the establishment and both lost by relatively thin margins. Staunch evangelical conservatives didn't vote for them. Women didn't vote for them. They get Jeb Bush in there, same result. To a certain degree same goes for Rubio; but he's better than Bush.

You finally have two guys (Trump & Cruz), that are prepared to fight for it, and playing dirty is on the table. But guess which bunch plays dirty ALL THE TIME? And owned McCain and Romney with their take the high road BS. Those whacko's on the left.

I can see either Trump or Cruz calling the criminal, an actual criminal on national TV in a debate. That's what the republicans need! A non-pu$$y!

Personally, I don't thing Rubio has that in him, but I will take him if that is what is FORCED down my throat, or up my ass; depending on your perspective!

So between Rubio and Clinton, you have no preference?
    Is that what yer sayin'?

I guess you didn't bother to vote for Romney.

I'm a registered libertarian. I refused to vote for McCain, I refused to vote for Romney, and I will refuse to vote for Rubio, too, if that little RINO gets the nomination.

I'll bite. I don't care to flame but am fascinated why people are drawn to Trump. That said could you discribe your preference in politics (uber conservitive, moderate, squishy moderate, lib-tard, ect.). Then tell us how Trump matches your politics. Again I'm not trying to make fun or flame you or anything. I don't see how he is drawning true conservitives considering his history and even some of his current policies.

I said that 4 years ago and 8 years ago but I just cant stomach that kind of politics any more. Rewarding a douche for not being a turd sandwich is a loosing proposition. It thats where we end up again Americans deserve to be government slaves.

I am just a Rebel and I love to go against the establishment. Rubio tried to pass a bill that would grant amnesty to illegal aliens, but that is not the worst of it he is the baby of the die hard RNC (establishment). Cruz would have been great if he would have admitted that one his people sent out a erroneously false email and fired him. Even in the face of documented emails with the time stamp he still won’t admit it.
But one thing about this great country of ours (for now) we can have the freedom of choice and I respect yours even you don’t like my choice.
    But thank you for asking.

Agreed I can't agree with your choice but respect that its yours to make and at least you seem to be paying attention. I just don't trust Trump. I dont really know all the details about Cruz's people playing some dirty pool, but I trust that Cruz is who he claims to be and has really pissed off his co-workers in the Senate being the kind of guy we need. Would it make any difference if Ben Carson dropped out and backed Cruz? I'm not trying make your mind up for you by any means by all accounts you appear to have a pretty good mind of your own.

What are your thoughts on Trump-Care?
All I can come up with is it will be fabulous, and the most luxurious healthcare ever ran by any government. :mamoru:

Personally the only thing I have found apealing about Trump is he's not your typical limp wristed, weasel polititian who rolls over and shows his belly when the media calls him names (racest, sexist, ect.).

And while that counts for a good bit for me it just aint enough.

I listened to part of Tom Gresham's podcast yesterday. He has a great segment with Alan Gura who argued the "Heller" case in front of the supreme court. They talked about the possible ramifications of who the justice will be to replace Scalia. The next president could (will) make or break us in regard to the second amendment by who they put on the court. It's worth a listen.

I understand the interest in this topic, but it may be a little premature as far as Louisiana voters are concerned. What usually happens is that by the time we get to vote in a primary here, most of the candidates have dropped out and our personal favorite may be gone. For this reason I hate to get too heavily invested in any one candidate. I've been disappointed too often in the past. This discussion is valuable however. I appreciate all the views expressed.

Sad to say you are right. I dont remember the last time my presidential primary vote mattered. I'm thinking its never mattered.
