Yikes. Kids go through some wierd phases. With the little you are telling I would say she is seeking attention. I'm not very open minded so if mine tried that she would hate me. I wouldn't immediately end the behavior but I would make her want to end it real fast. Maybe try giving her a kitty litter box for her bedroom for Christmas and ban her from the facilities.

I don't understand you guys. Most here agree "play stupid games when stupid prize". I love my child too much to let the world teach her the harsh realities of life. I'm gonna teach her myself. If my kid pulled that cat nonsense that's exactly how I would respond. Maybe I'm an a-hole but I'm not gonna be one of those participation trophy buying, scoreless soccer coaching parents.

Thank god I trust and respect my 16yo and my 7yo enough to never feel the need to "bug" them.

The dad of that boy who earned a bullet to the chest probably wishes he snooped a little harder. Every parent gets to choose how they entend on raising their own child. At 3 I barely trust her to go pee by herself. She has the option of earning a whole lot of trust, however I spoke specifically to not trusting other people with my child.

What others do with their children is them "I don't judge". But I'm not gonna invade my child's trust/privacy because I don't trust others.

I believe the key here is wires and telephones. I'm not tapping no wire if I stash a listening device on her person or personal effects.

The wires are attached to the device that's on your daughter, on the property of another and recording on said property. Louisiana is a one party consent state. Wire tapping is the lofty name they give to it but the statute will apply.

And as she gets older I would like to believe the relationship we develop will allow us to speak honestly about teacher and other authority figures in her life, but until such time I will do what I feel is best for my child. The preschool she attends has her on closed circuit so I don't feel the need to listen in. My wife went to look at a public school in Hammond that doesn't allow the parents to walk their child into school. It doesn't matter if it's the first day of kindergarten or last day of the year. That's wierd. And you better believe I would be keeping tabs on that. The early years help to establish a life long belief system I'm not leaving it to chance that my child is lucky enough to have great teachers that help her develop a healthy world view. And I won't have some moon-bat undoing the life lessons I'm teaching at home.

As the legal guardian I provide my minor child's consent to me recording. We aren't talking somewhere private there is no emplied privacy in a classroom. The property is not owned by a person. Nor would I be transmitting recordings. Bottomline you think what I've said is wierd or creepy, and should be against the law, but you are attempting to shoe-horn a caddy into a dog house.

It would be the intellectual equivalent to attempt to charge for wire fraud because I did a math problem wrong because the calculator has wires.
