What's more bothersome is that this guy can even speak such foolishness.

It should speak volumes to those who elected him on his knowledge, or lack thereof of Louisiana Laws, you know those things he is supposed to know and enforce.

It's St. Helena Parish. They are on the lower end of everything. Education, high poverty, etc., etc. The recent history of the place is really sobering.

However, though I do not like commentary on news reporting (unless asked), I sure would like to see the news add how f'n stupid that idiot is.

So who are we going to complain to and have this guy yanked back to reality? This is the easiest case of they really don't know what they are doing.

Well I guess I will be seeing if they catch me......since that is where my camp is at and MOSt of my shooting is out there!
EXCEPT I don't own any "ASSAULT WEAPONS" so I guess I am in the clear, all mine are SEMI-AUTO sporting/hunting rifles ;)

Stay on Hwy 37 (Greenwell Springs Road) & drive all the way to LA Hwy 10 in Greensburg. Take a right on 10, and it's on the right about a block or so down on the right- @ Hwy 10 & Sitman Street.

I'm speechless that this man is actually a SHERIFF IN THE STATE OF LOUISIANA. But I guess this is what happens in a moron-majority society.....:dunno::dunno:

At any rate- I hope he gets sued into resignation over this crap.:mad::mad::mad:

edit: Sorry Sniper....I see you're in NOLA. Just take I-55 north to the LA 10 exit, and head West right into the heart of Greensburg (about 8 miles, I think). :D

State Police or Feds (FBI)? Somebody has to be responsible for policing the Sheriff. If he's gone off the reservation so to speak then it's time to look at who has authority over him.

If he really means automatic rifles then duhhhh federal law says no,
    but he doesn't.

Is it against the law to send a police chief a letter saying YOU ARE F'N RETARDED?

    A March??

noticed the comments to the post on the advocate, a few have suggested a march, I am not normally one to stir the pot and usually do my protesting on voting day however, I think a march/ parade would be an exceptional idea in this case.

    Anyone?

I know one letter being written to the Advocate letters to the editor asking them why they allowed the reporter to gloss over the fact the guy is completely wrong about his belief. And/or why they just left that fact hanging?

Now unlike a news story about a guy who believes that if he waits outside on his roof long enough a space ship will come and get him, this is an article or report that speaks to the governance or protection by an elected official over the citizenry he has made and oath to serve. When the news report omits the fact that the Sheriffs' belief is wrong to the letter of the law, they are misleading the public interest in that reporting. Thus, by not refuting the assinine claim made by the sheriff they are implying that it is so or backing his claim as the way it is or should be.
