      Bz Is Closed!

Not having read this thread, I showed up there this AM to find no vehicles parked along the road. "Hot dog! We have the place to ourselves!" And then we saw the signs. And they have been very generous with putting them up! CX

      BUFFER ZONE Directions

One thing that strikes me about this image is the Stennis Highway is in the impact zone for rounds that go over the berm. Looks like it may be a mile or less away. We may want to avoid that happening. CX

A Split Second Advantage During a Mugging...

This is a very interesting subject and I hope others weigh in with comments. I am no expert but here are my thoughts: I have my doubts about this advice. Is dropping to the ground the best response? This sounds limiting (I only heard one option offered) and makes her a stationary target once...

      BZ on 27 Sept

No way would I wear flip-flops in that water with all that shot-up metal and glass. BTW, went there today (5 Oct) and water had gone down some, enough to get around it on the right side. CX

      .357 mag question

Man you ain't kidding! I once saw a series of photos of a guy who did the thumbs forward hold so many use on autos, and the thumb got out past the front end of the cylinder - nearly flame-cut the end of his thumb off! Nasty looking wound! CX

      BZ on 27 Sept

Knee boots would probably be enough to get through. CX

      BZ on 27 Sept

Went to the BZ for the first time today. Since it was the first nice weekend day in a while I expected lots of company. Zip, zero, nada for the first couple of hours, and then one person showed up as we were finishing up. It was flooded somewhat, mostly at midrange, and too deep for my low...

      Nick's

Spoke to them a few weeks ago. The range is usually open after 5 and all day Sunday until the pipeline is done - BUT CALL first to be sure. CX

      Revolver for CCW

It also came in a 4" and a 2.5". A friend had all three. Do they even make them anymore? CX

What would be a really good pocket .25 model

Ruger just came out with a little pocket .380 all the gun rag writers are excited about. Ruger generally has a very good rep for quality firearms. CX

      Favorite carry caliber POLL

I checked .45, because it is my favorite, and that is usually a Kimber Compact or full size Colt. However, during the summer, I carry my S&W 642 with +P more often because I can slip it into my pocket. CX

      Had my first "confrontation" yesterday

What does it have to do with the election? If BHO loses, and I think he will, the dems WILL scream stolen election just like they did for the last two, and that will make the situation much worse than it should be. If he wins I am afraid of what some blooming idiot might do, and that will make...

      Had my first "confrontation" yesterday

Maybe it is coincidence, but I keep hearing and reading about these confrontations lately and always involving blacks. We have had 3 in the New Orleans area involving cops recently. I had one person chase me down and chew me out, because he was convinced I cut him off - and he had his kid in the...

      1911 sights..........lets talk.

I am one month away from 64 and wear contacts for distance and readers for close work. I really also need a middle correction, which is where my sights fall, thus they tend to be hard to pick up. I was a firm believer in black sights only and that is what was on my 1911s. I have since discovered...
