      Yep. This is the way to go. I did prints in BR at the LSP HQ and submitted the app online. Had my permit in about 10 days.

      Bear with me here: I filled out a paper application for a new permit and hand-delivered it to the LSP HQ in Baton Rouge a few weeks ago. I paid via money order while there, and also did my prints there. So I email them last Friday checking in and they say they're still processing paper apps...

      I made it out to Honey Island Saturday. It was quite crowded, but the range officers did a good job of keeping things moving and we didn't really have to wait long at all to get a lane. Kudos to the guys running the range. Nice fun and safe environment. Well worth the drive from Metry.

      If you're willing to go 9mm, I'd check out the Ruger Security 9. They run around $300. I have the compact version but there's a "full size" option also available. Mine has been great. I did have one FTE near the end of one range session with magtech ammo. Otherwise it's ran flawlessly for ~500...
