Seeking help valuing a old Colt Commander 1911

CLW may designate this as a lightweight commander model. Can you describe what the roll marks on the slide look like? If in good condition, a lightweight Series 70 manufactured during the 70's would be worth between $1,200 and $1,600.

      . . . . the BEST $5.00 I've EVER spent . . . . . . .

      Ahem . . . . I prefer the term "Saltine American" . . . . .

      Another of Curly's 1911 related creations . . . . .

Sorry I haven't been on the much site lately, but I have branched out making these. I am now making bone grips with 1911 dated $2-1/2 Quarter Eagle medallions. These are not genuine Quarter Eagles, but they are 24K gold plated tribute/reproductions that are made for the jewelry industry...

      Stuff the new guy (Curly) makes . . . . .

I've had a few requests to make a Glock version. I wish I owned a few, as I would have made these up already. I hope to be heading to my local gun store to take a few measurements. Stay tuned, I am notoriously slow on incorporating new designs, but when I do, it's full steam ahead . . .

      Thinking about a 1911 in 10mm

The Kimber Custom Eclipse II is a nice option.

So, what is your largest handgun? Caliber or size will do . . . . .

      I'll go head to head with you on a charging boar hog . . . . . !

OK, this one is my favorite to make. I have a few sets of 1911 dated coins that I have been painstakingly accumulating over the past year or so, and a few guys have asked me to create grip sets for them with these coins inset as featured medallions. They are set in the wood using non...

      Stuff the new guy (Curly) makes . . . . .

I have been asked to do that a couple times. It would be easy enough to do, but I would need a magazine for measurements and it would be best to get one in hand to take some critical angular dimensions. If there was interest, I could get my hands on a Glock or three local to me. I would have...

A few more configurations. I appreciate your thoughts and comments.

      Stuff the new guy (Curly) makes . . . . .

Hope I'm not stepping into it or on thin ice, but I thought I would share an area of my passion for guns that lead to a new hobby. Curly makes this kind of stuff in his garage. I always wanted a 1911 stand to show off some of my collection, but everything I found were single stands. I wanted...
