Born and raised in the Baton Rouge area, only time spent away was while in the service (Army). Grew up when things were quite different from what they are now. Unlocked doors, open windows, guns were a good thing and people communicated face to face and verbally so you could feel what they were saying. Carried a pocket knife in my pocket since I was 7 or 8 years old, went to high school with a shotgun or rifle in my car and went hunting after school. Got in fights at school with knife in my pocket and gun in vehicle, never did I ever think of using either one. Usually after fight we had shaken hand and were friends again by the end of the day. Flash forward (40 years of marriage to a great woman with three good GROWN and GONE Kids), there shooting kids in schools, guns or BAD (and did you know some of them can assault you), windows and doors locked and you don't feel safe going out unless your packing. Whats this world coming to?
Hunting, fishing, camping and Grandkids/with horses.
