      Blackpowder Rifles

BOOM! Yes I do. Several cap & ball, and one flint. I love the smoke and the loud report. Having to clean them is what keeps me from shooting black powder more often. I have never hunted with one though they accurate enough. I was amazed by how well the revolvers shoot, once I got through the...

Federal Appeals Court Upholds Assault Weapons Ban.

I had once had job foreman tell me to "do something, even if it's wrong." Always a bad idea and a bad way to govern.

You are not on the soapbox thperez1972. That is an accurate observation and it applies to almost all customized firearms.

Thanks much. Though some of my friends disagree, according to MD Anderson there's nothing wrong with me.

Thanks to all for the links and leads. I have been enjoying working my way through every one of the Forgotten Weapons. I can't wait to look over all of the others mentioned. Trust God, and your powder dry.

      Am I a weirdo?

There nothing weird about wanting to understand any part of the sudden chemical release of heat and energy taking place just a matter of inches from your face. If the safety of yourself and your loved ones is on the line, that is a very healthy curiosity. And It's fun, and useful, and fun, and...

What's your bedside / home defense gun?

The first gun I ever bought, an Ithaca 37 featherweight 12 gauge. About 35 years ago I found a open cylinder barrel and cut it to 21 inches. I keep a stainless Ruger service six handy or, sometimes the old IPSC 1911 45. My Wife has a Smith Bodyguard just a few years younger than her.

I am just getting back to shooting, loading and casting after break of several years due to ill health. Brian G at LA Shooting & Reloading told me about this site. I look forward to the fellowship and knowledge aboard.
