CCW Duty to Notify -CHP vs. Constitutional Carry

There are plenty of videos of interactions like that (and worse) around, too. So for me, an opportunity to possibly have a nice chat with an officer and be told I have a cool firearm doesn't outweigh the possibility of a bad interaction. I'd rather miss out on both since I don't know which I'll...

CCW Duty to Notify -CHP vs. Constitutional Carry

The stories on this thread are perfect examples of why. I'm not breaking any laws carrying my pistol, I don't want to get felt up, disarmed, any of that. Nothing in these interactions described made anyone involved safer - just the opposite. Why would I be in favor of that?? Why would anybody?

Now that you say that, I remember there being something like that. Don't know the details though!

CCW Duty to Notify -CHP vs. Constitutional Carry

Thanks, that seem clear enough. Too bad we have that requirement, but, it is what it is.

CCW Duty to Notify -CHP vs. Constitutional Carry

I disagree. I'd rather not. Some officers are jumpy. Some want to disarm you. I'd rather not go through any of that, so for me, duty to notify is a definite downside. Thanks for...

CCW Duty to Notify -CHP vs. Constitutional Carry

Does anyone know whether constitutional carry in Louisiana will have the same 'duty to notify' requirement that CHP does? I've had my CHP for a few years, and thinking about whether I should continue that or just go with constitutional carry. If there is no duty to notify unless you have a...

      St George

St. George was neve a part of the city of Baton Rouge. St. George is a part of the parish of East Baton Rouge - always has been and always will be, so no change there. Everything you named is in the purview of the parish government and will remain so. There are no properties to buy from Baton...

      St George

The mayor may not be able to get much done, but she sure did a good job of getting the media and many others on board with this 'wealthy white enclace' narrative of hers. 90% of St. George is composed of apartments, condos made from old apartment complexes, and smaller, older homes built in the...

      Another "I'm pro 2A but...."

This. You hit the nail on the head. I would add to it but why bother? You've said it all.
