      More than a basic class

Unfortunately, no. This is about 2 hours of classroom, and 6 hours of shooting, plus the qualification. The course requires approximately 300 rounds to put it in perspective.

Training in the Baton Rouge, LA area

Due to the weather and student availability, the last Advanced CCW class had to be postponed. I will set a date toward the end of March (after hunting season) to teach the next class. We limit the class to 5 students (two instructors per class) due to the amount of shooting, and topics that are...

Training in the Baton Rouge, LA area

A lot. Its better to have people come over prepared than underprepared. I don't have to explain the importance of positional shooting, and the ability to quickly change to positions in order to deliver a shot. Part of the courses we offer all require specific qualifications. If you can not meet...

Training in the Baton Rouge, LA area

As long as you are able to safely change shooting positions (Standing sitting squatting kneeling prone) without assistance, handle running short distances, and stand for extended periods of time while wearing your equipment, you should be ok.

How often do you incorporate skills drills with your carry gun?

Stealing a quote from someone way smarter than me, that goes "men typically don't rise to the occasion, but rather fall to their level of training. " Dry fire practice is wonderful, but nothing can replace range time. Shot timers are great, and help you drive yourself. Remember, attack the...

The error was the system would not allow people to proceed without uploading a file, even if nothing changed.

Training in the Baton Rouge, LA area

An assortment of reasons. Regardless, I still explain both methods. 1. Some people still do not know how to use computers, or how to upload files. 2. For first time applicants, I already recommend they get fingerprinted by LSP, so why would they not turn in their completed packet while on...

Training in the Baton Rouge, LA area

For first time applicants, I recommend a paper application and to be fingerprinted by LSP, which prevents issues. And for the 60-90 days, that is up for debate. I've had new CCW holders receive their permit in 14 days after leaving LSP.

Once brass lands inside of the shirt that is tucked in, it has nowhere to go except next to your skin. Most people aren't used to that, which typically causes unsafe movements on a firing line. Just telling you what I've seen. Thanks Weimer Weaponry
