When I was a child, I grew up in the south and was taught the fundamentals of gun safety and how to shoot by my father, who was taught by his father and his father before him. The first animal I ever shot was a squirrel, but I’ve shot a lot more than squirrels in my lifetime. Later in life I sought further training in the use of firearms and how to repair and restore them. I’ve taught all of my children as much as I can about gun safety and shooting and caring for firearms and why we are still able to practice our right to own and enjoy them.
I would never dismiss what I was taught as a child about firearms.

What do you have against Southerners? There are ignorant people everywhere, but most can be taught. It's the ignorant and arrogant gun owners who think they know everything that are really dangerous.

Watching Gangsta movies, TV shows, computer games or youtube does not count as training either.

I was taught to respect all things living and if I killed animals for the sake of killing them, my grandfather would have beaten my @ss. My first official training was a hunter's safety course to be able to obtain a hunting license. Later on, I was trained by a good friend of mine who was a retired military instructor working with the local police department. I was also trained on entry techniques, CQB, force on force, and all that other jazz. The kicker is I would do more training if it was offered because I like to learn.

About the only thing I NEED to do is another CHP course because my permit expired when COVID was trying to kill me.

Not sure why you would post something like this except to start an argument?

I grew up around guns and am very competent. This whole bullcrap nonsense about being an expert in weapons is just that, a bunch of bullsh!t!

The only people I would consider weapons experts would be Special Forces, Delta Force, Navy Seals, etc...

I've seen some lousy gun handling in my many years of shooting.

I thought the post was pretty funny. Nobody here has come across that guy who has “been around guns his entire life” then proceeds to flag everyone or do or say things that make you think the exact opposite? I can’t be the only guy here that can relate to that post
