    Proposed legislation in Commifornia:
    Starting in '27, Cali vehicles would have to have technology to govern cars speed to 10 mph over posted speed limit.
    That should slow down the mass exit of taxpayers. :}
    How is this any different from the way they drive here?
    Throw in Texas and Florida clogging up the left lane, How is this any different?
    I'm like get out the way ''B'' I got real ticket money, Not that chump change 5 mph over the speed limit crap yall driving!

    Looks like I will be buying a code editor and changing the code that does this. Simple solution is to disable the vehicles gps module via code. I just finished editing the code in my f250 to get ride of all the damn beeping alerts and doors constantly being locked when I get out.

    I think a lot of folks will be caught by surprise by what our government will continue to do in the name of our safety, but it’s in small enough increments so as not to alarm the sheep.
    I wonder if there’s possibly a way you could actually shut down one of these new “connected” cars during a pursuit or even disable it if you didn’t want someone driving …lemme just take off this tin foil hat real quick. My head’s getting sweaty.
    Look up Fabian Socialism. It was took down the former world super power, England. They are doing the same here. Three small steps forward and 2 backwards. You will even achieve your goals without anyone knowing.

    Most vehicles nowdays are already limited top speed by programming. MY 02 Silverado WAS limited to 98 MPH by GM, but that got changed quickly after I was driving around the I285 loop aka Racetrack in Atlanta. I was on my phone and in traffic not paying attention to speed but all traffic in that lane were going same speed until I hit the fuel cut @ 98 at which point all the cars behind me nearly ran me over like I did a Brake check, lots of near misses and horns blowing at me. The GM fuel cut was sudden and didn't kick back in till around 95, but that was dangerous so I had that taken care of.
    Mercedes Benz has a fuel cut @ 155 we were told on everything entering into the US market due to our shitty lawyers. I can honestly say I've never found out if this was true, but on a test drive with the SF @ our shop driving we almost found out, but when you are catching Atlanta traffic doingnearly 3 times the legal speed limit we chickened out. We did make it to 145 though, my pucker factor was wayyyy over it's limit! lol
    As far as the Commiefornias wanting to limit speeds that low. I'm sure there will be shops able to remove them. This is why I hate the Left coast!

    Surprised this is just now coming up. Much to my chagrin and negative reaction, I have had "past" acquaintances quite proudly profess to me that they habitually drive in the LEFT hand lane at the speed limit to "enforce the speed limit for safety". Those self-righteous A-Holes are everywhere... some seek to impose their fetishes on everyone.
    I worked with a guy like that, was totally proud that he would ride next to someone at the same speed to block other people. "They don't need to go any faster than that." He was a generally likeable dude in all other aspects, but just a complete tool about that.

    I bought a used car recently. a few days later I get a call from the dealer wanting me to bring the car back so they could fix a problem. He wanted to re-install the GPS tracker. Nope. Not gonna happen Sport. It was sitting on the passenger seat next to me. He kept calling it "his car" and was gonna call the police if I didn't bring it back. Nope. My car. And the banks. He was losing his mind. Eventually a vice president called and made nice so I brought it back. More flies with honey.

    "Call the police"?? Was it dealer financed or your bank? If it's yours (and the banks), what legal right does the dealer have to track you? I thought only the "rent-to-own" people did this.
