I'll take a gamble on the ar-15 and the 1911 receivers... $80 isn't bad considering my 10-22 receiver and jig ran nearly double that.
I built a 10-22 from a 80% receiver and turned out pretty sweet imo.
3 shot group at 100 yds after I mounted a 3x9 scope that I had laying around.
Haha... I've got to give my bank account a rest for now. I've still got the jig and bits from mine that some buddies plan on "borrowing" whenever their receivers come in.
Yessir... The link to select fire is in the original post. they're located out of colubus, ms so the shipping time is not too bad and there's some sense of local support. I would've been able to drill the holes alot faster if i would've had a machinist vise, but i was able to get by with some...
It started with a Boyd's 10/22 stock that I was eye-balling at a local gun shop that sparked the build idea. I wanted to build a tack-driving 10/22 around the Boyd's stock and pick up after market parts to complete the build. I considered buying a 2nd hand 10/22 and using stock parts. After...
My experience with a rossi 357 wasn't a very good one. I bought it new from academy (on account of price) brought it home, put 4 rounds thru it, the trigger pull got harder on the 5th shot, and the cylinder locked on the 6th. I tried a different brand of brass thinking that it may be the bullet...
Yessir... Mine would be a boyd's featherweight thumbhole. Being that it's a free floating barrel, i invested a gunsmith to do the stock change. I felt more comfortable paying for an expert to take on that task. That way i know the receiver is bedded in the stock just right and wouldn't worry so...
My 92fs was my first pistol when i was in high school (a full whopping $350 out of my grass cutting money). With well over 15k rds down the pipe and not a single jam... I'd say its a keeper. A little rem oil and she looks new again.
Glad to see someone else shying away from the 223 / 5.56 craze. I've had my Remington 700 25-06 for years and have had no problem finding rounds for it. I'm looking to upgrade the scope to something that i can see out to 300 yds without the fighting the guess work of a 3x9 power at that...
