Revived: The **** you hear people say about firearms...

I've had clerks attempt to steer me to the colorful options. Nope. It's flat black or blued steel. Now, if pink is what it takes to get my sisters armed, I can live with it. As long as they are practicing, not just letting those pink pistols sit unfired, it's all good.

      PC Operating System

That's the plan. I have the Win7 install on dvd. Once this pc dies, I will build my own from the ground up & try using Win7 with the legit key code from this one, if MS passes it. Steam works on Linux which is a plus, so I'm thinking of trying a dual boot set up with Win7 & Linux. Going all...

      PC Operating System

I am a clinger as well. I like 7. It works. 10 is too Big Brother. Hubby uses Linux Mint and likes it and wants me to use it, but I have many older games that do not play well with Linux. I've upgraded my box as much as I can. It is modern enough that I'm running a SSD, but only for my OS since...

      herbicide that works?

I second broadcasting salt. It's cheap & kills everything. Just be cautious not to over spread because the plants aren't coming back any time soon.

      Irma

I always have mixed feelings when a hurricane hits someone else. I feel horrible for them, and many of us know the feeling too well. But, I also feel relief we aren't in the path - at least not YET! I have cousins in the USVI, and we are very concerned about their fate. No way I'd stay in...

      Hello from Meraux

I live in Lexington. Maybe they moved because it's hard to believe I'd have missed them both. LOL What year Supra? A dated a guy with an 88. I've got some fond memories of that car.

      Hello from Meraux

Wait. I'm not the only gun nut here with more than one? :D Last year I had one. Currently, I have 3 handguns & a rifle. Ammo? Never enough of that either.

      Walther P-99 .40 to 9mm conversion

Has anyone else used the Jarvis barrel conversion for a Walther P-99 .40 S&W to 9mm? If so, what is your experience with it? I've done mine recently & so far, so good. Jarvis recommended 124 gr due to poor ejection. This one fires my usual range ammo, Blazer Brass 115 gr FMJ, with normal ejection.

      Training advice for new shooter

I am curious what drills & techniques others use to improve accuracy. I recently got my first rifle, a Bushmaster M4A2 Patrolmans Carbine. My first time out was with an instructor. I've been working on my accuracy. I'm firing seated with my stock iron sights until I am confident with the...
