      Fingerprinting

I went about a month ago. When I got to the complex traffic is directed through an area where temperatures are taken while you're still in the car. Once that was done I made my way to the right building. I got there right at 8 when the building opened and they were already taking people in. Was...

      Current Situation

Is there anything in place barring people from accessing WMA land during whats going on right now with the quarantine? It may not be squirrel season, but its always hog season.

      Honey island

Thank you Mr.Daniel! I've been to many shooting ranges since moving to Southern Louisiana. Honey Island is the only one I go back to. Consistency with staff and regulations make it easy to know what to do and what not to do. I've never been turned down when asking for assistance. It's...

Preferred setup for Louisiana deer hunting

I'm curious as to what people in Louisiana's "go-to" deer rifle is? Back home in Florida I used to use my Ruger M77 in .270 with a 3.5-14x 40mm optic Mainly because I hunted a power-line clearing that provided a couple hundred yards of unimpeded visibility. Now that I mainly hunt in Pearl...

      Primitive firearm qualification

I 100% agree that the regulations are worth reading and I HAVE. I post on forums like this in order to gain further information and get a bead on what others in the community are practicing/preaching. It's the "me thinks you're going to jail" nonsense responses with a link to the regs that...

New squirrel slayer on the block

Yea... the 12 is a very rare occurrence. I'd say 90% of the time I've got a .22lr or magnum 3x-9x 40mm scopes on all hunting 22s

New squirrel slayer on the block

Both rifle and shotgun. Just depends what time of the season it is and how I feel on any given day. I go back and forth between .22lr and .22Mag. Can't beat the range that a rifle with a scope affords you. shotgun wise I typically will go with a breach loading 410. but every once in a while...
