I am considering getting started in beekeeping and the Flow Hives seem like an option for a beginner. I know they are expensive, but the ease of harvesting is appealing. Any one out there using them?

former-and-future beekeeper here. I'd either use a Top-Bar or a Langstroth hive to start with, see how you feel about the hobby, learn the bees and how to keep them ("Be a beekeeper not a bee-haver!"), then later I'd split a hive and experiment with a Flow Hive if it was still interesting. You're not likely to keep just one hive if you get into it. Flow Hive is neat but I feel like they will end up a mess after a couple of years, or like people will maintain their hives less, but I do not have experience with them to verify.

I am a beekeeper, I have looked into them a little. Seems like they work but their expensive. I don't recommend them but also I don't have any experience with them.
