are kbar knives high carbon?

i think i have one. its black and looks exactly like one. maybe its an older version? it will rust and has a very sharp edge.

Most Ka-Bars, Camillus and Ontario knives are 1095 (High Carbon) Steel. It is not rust proof/resistant like Stainless but it is tough and holds an edge. A quick look at Ka-Bars website should tell you what steel was used. If not google the model knife and you are sure to find it.

I am pretty sure it might be. I have one for 20 years, stout as they get.
