Post pictures of it. An old copper penny not a new penny but one made of actual copper will knock the rust right off. Depending on how bad it is or not you have a few different options.

Before you do anything to it if you can post some pictures. You have several options depending on how bad the rust is. My goal would be to remove the rust while keeping the original blueing.

It’s not hard to do and if you don’t have the proper tools/ equipment you may possibly need most of it can be bought and made for very cheap. Mark Novak has a YouTube channel that is a wealth of knowledge in this subject.

He has a stainless gun. Check out Big 45 Frontier Metal Cleaner. You need to see if this is safe for stainless. Works great on blued guns. You can also look at fine 3M pads in the 300-600 grit range. follow the grain of the stainless. Read up and be careful. Start in small area first to test.

Thanks. I tried some ballistol and a nylon brush and most of it came off luckily. Guess it wasn’t too bad. Then used some bronze wool for the tough spots. So all good!!!
