Interested in Cowboy Action Shooting....without the role play. Does that exist anywhere?

So as the title suggests, I am interested in some structured shooting events that involve lever action, single action revolvers, etc., but I am not really into the dressing up and picking alias names and stuff. Not at all knocking people that are, it just isn't for me. Are there any groups in the state that focus on having fun with these old guns without all of the extra stuff?

I've read up on this some, and I am pretty sure the short answer is no. Now, how far you want to go with it may be up to you. But the structured events seem to largely be run by and favor those who really get into it. If you just want to shoot, you could probably get by with a hat, boots, a 'name' and some late 1800's style equipment. It does look like fun. Maybe 5-6 years ago, I saw a pair of Ruger SASS 357's on Gunbroker for about $1300. Should have hit the buy button.
