Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Range Reopens 1/28/2022

The Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office Shooting Range Facility reopens to the public on Friday, January 28! It has been closed since Hurricane Ida due to damages. It will reopen tomorrow (1/28/2022) for normal operating hours, 8am-5pm.

I've heard about the range but have never gone, can anyone tell me what they charge and what kind of rules and regulations there are? How long is the pistol/ rifle range? How many lanes are there?

It's $10 per day. I believer the pistol range maxes out at 50yds. There is a 100yd rifle range and another that's 200 or 300yds, I don't remember. The 100 yd range has about 8 stations. Longer one has 4 or 5.

I just returned from a visit there. Not quite up to where it was but usable.

It will be open to members only on Wednesday.
Thursday, Friday and Saturday for the general public.
Plans are to open again on Sunday later this year.

I have never used the 200yd range. On a calm day I can hear them shooting.

Thanks for the info, guys. It sounds nice and I'll check it out. I was planning on trying tomorrow but seems like it's closed.

Check before you go on Sat. CCW class this week was so crowded that the range was closed to general shooters for most of the day. They lock the door during class. I suppose do to lack of volunteer RO's. A Lt. was doing the class and the only RO there. There were about 30 students waiting and they were training 5 at a time. This was around 2pm.
I called before going and range officer said they were open to the public. He failed to mention the class. So, check first.

Dang, I just spoke to Danny Toups and he told me that they didn't have a planned date to return to being open. Very poor communication.

The range was open yesterday 2/2. Will be open wed-sat, closed sun. according to the RO. RO office is now in the small grey building in the parking lot.
