Looking for info on these 7.62x51 training rounds ??

I inherited a few boxes of old surplus military items when a good friend of mine passed away a few years back.
I have several boxes of these plastic training type blanks I guess they may be called ???
Does someone know a little history of these?

Those are "BLANKS". You can tell by the splits on the bullet end
The "Training Rounds" are plastic, light blue in color and have a solid bullet tip that actually separates as a small projectile.
The training rounds are lethal ...will easily penetrate a 55 gal drum. I have several and can post a picture if interested.

Thought that may be the case. Have never seen them before. I remember shooting my buddy's HK91, I guess he had these squirreled away from when had that rifle.
I found 8 or 10 mags for the HK with rubber double belt packs also. No telling what else left to re-discover.

There's lots of vendors that still sell both, but Dan's has some of the better prices I remember when the blue training ammo was like $50 per 1000

Thanks for the info guys. These have been in my shop, boxed up for some time. Not sure what to do with them, not planning on trying them in my 308.
