I need to purchase a new reloading manual. Anybody use the Hornady app? I’m thinking about getting the app and updating every year for $19.99 per year.

Speer #15 reloading manual works great for me. Lyman 51st. Edition is also a good choice. Use the recommended data and
tweek to your gun. Stay within safe pressures.

If you like a particular brand of bullet in multiple calibers, it's probably better to get data from the bullet maker. They will have the bullets with various powders which are the most accurate, highest velocity, etc. Sierra, Hornady, Barnes, Nosler, Berger.

Most calibers have an overall best powder or 2 or 3 best powders. The powders have data, but it may or may not be for a particular projectile that someone wants to use.

Then you have Lyman who also publishes as well. The powder maker's data can give you a good idea of where to start, but I like to eventually settle with data from the bullet maker.

I also think you may not need to update it every single year unless there are new calibers you want or you haven't settled a load yet.

I find old fashioned manuals much more informative than ...websites ... more data is contained for more powdersd and more bullets .

I just went to Hodgens new load data center... you get to choose ... one caliber , one bullet weight , one powder manufacturer and one powder ... And You Get One Load !
That Sucks Rocks ... I'll just keep my loading manuals ...
they have worked and worked well for 50 years ... no need to change to please the Almighty Computer God .

I've used Quick Load for years. Has data on everything. Can't be beat as far as I'm concerned.

Agree, i buy the manuals for the rifle bullets i shoot. I also have the last couple lyman manuals for pistol since they cover quite a bit of options. Ive looked at the online data but as you i prefer the manual sitting in front of me each time i load. I keep a log of my loads as well but still pull the manual out each time.
