So I’m looking for some ponds or places to take my son bank fishing. I wanna work on teaching him casting accuracy and how to safely handle hooks from a bank where we have room to work vs in a boat. Looking for places near Morgan city, Houma, Thibodaux, Kenner and New Orleans but also open to traveling the state and renting a cabin if that presents better options…. Any suggestions for pond/bank fishing with or without cabin camping would be greatly appreciated?

Tickfaw state park, also FAIRVIEW rIVERSIDE STATE PARK
Idk if it's a good spot to fish but Parc Des Familles in Marrero built a nice spot for fishing. It's a really nice and well kept park.
