Thinking about purchasing a semi-auto pistol with a red dot. I have little to no experience with red dots on pistols, any thoughts or tips?

Red dots on handguns are the new standard. I don't even bother with iron sights anymore. The quality of red dots has gone up significantly. I've owned multiple Holosuns and Trijicons and have never had any issues. I haven't replaced any batteries on my Holosuns for over 2 years. I've replaced my Trijicons within 1 year. Once you zero them in, you're not going to miss. Get an optic ready gun and buy a Holosun.
