Last week or so I took a report from a guy who reported a rifle stolen from the trunk of his car while parked at work (hospital, open, unrestricted lot). This week the detective followed up asking for video footage, after which the guy was terminated by the hospital over having the gun at work. Guess they don't keep abreast of legal updates, and are unaware of the bill/act/statute in the thread title, which took effect 8/15/08. I dug up the text and forwarded it to the detective to provide the guy, maybe get him his job back or put him on good footing for a just lawsuit (occasionally there IS a just lawsuit).

Keep us posted on how this pans out. If it comes out favorably this qould be a good arguing point for case law.
