Anyone ever try these?
They have an NPR rating of 16, I think that is to low to be used around firearms for extended periods of time.

Pretty much what LSP has said. I've used them for about 2 years also and love them. You can hear normal convo just fine and it does the job blocking out gunfire. I've used them indoors and they performed flawlessly through many outside pistol courses as well as a shotgun class.
