I don't understand why anyone would want to use a machine gun on game. You are going to tear up meat. It sounds more like the need to satisfy a bloodlust if you ask me.

Wait until you've got 30-40 hogs tearing up your back yard!

I'm sure there'd be some restriction on game animals. Being as hogs are not game animals and fall squarely under nuisance animals, there are laws on the books now with no restrictions on type of weapon or calibre used. Don't know if they had machine guns in mind, though, when they were putting the bill through.

No restriction on hunting game with a machine gun, called a few years back and checked. It surely caught them off guard but they gave me the green light.

You just don't realize the sport and fun of it till you own a vintage Japanese 96 LMG, Lewis, 1919A6, Bren, BAR or such. There is something just cool about kicking it old school iron sights and taking deer with a gun like that. Shooting deer with rifles with $2000 glass from a lazy boy can get boring.

By no means do I advocate that I go out there and just mow them down with belts of full auto fire by any means either.

I called ldwf last year and there is no law against it except a federal law for ducks, so it's legal. I checked through the regs and there is nothing against it. I would try to get something in writing though just to cya.

Have you ever shot a machine gun? I shot a deer last year with a f/a m11/9 with a lage upper to slow it down. A 2 round burst from 35 yards in the boiler room and the deer didn't make it 20 yards. Just because you don't you don't understand it doesn't make it bad.

When it comes to hogs I'd propose you use full auto, RPG's, Grenades, Apache's, or anything else guaranteed to kill them dead by the dozen. Screw what the wussies say about your caveman bloodlust tendencies.

just mow them down and let the bugs feast.

What are your thoughts on using sidewinders or low yield atomic weapons on hogs?

when nuking hogs you'd likely get casualties of animals that deserve to live, like deer. now, if we could get them all together in Alamogordo, NM somehow....

just imagine it. with the push of a button the entire city smells like sunday-morning breakfast and hogs are instantly at the top of the endangered species list.
