Two teens were stealing rims from a Ford dealership lot in Metairie when someone called JPSO. The Officer spotted the teen going into a warehouse, he followed. Seeing the Office, Devon Martes pointed his gun at the Office & tried to fire but his gun jammed. The Officer fired, killing Devon.
Devon's Mother said the Office did what he had to do. THAT IS RARE! For the dead criminal's Mother to say the Cop did what he had to do. Devin started is criminal career path at age 10.
Luckily the gun jammed, so the criminal is dead and not the JPSO Officer. And it's all on video!

I'm glad the mother didn't try to make it a race issue, Poor choices landed the kid in a bad spot. I'm thankful the officer was able to leave unscathed. And I'm wondering why since you can't buy a pistol from a store till the age of 21 could this poor child buy a gun! Since laws are to be followed etc...

What kind of gun is that? Was it poor quality or extra stupidity that cause it to jam. I'm glad he didn't use an ol time Revolver.

Thanks, I agree with a lot of what he said. And we need to stop "victimizing" these thugs on the street. Also What a rap sheet for a 17 year old, going as far back as 10 years old....

Stephen, yesterday on nola.com I was reading the article comments and somebody posted this 17 YO was "the victim". A victim of 50 years of racism and little opportunity. GIVE ME A BREAK....and these people believe this sh*t!
They are a lost cause......a cancer upon our society. And if we as a country elect Hitlery, four more years of this socialism mentality......oh my!
