1/2/2011 - As of right now (04 Jan, 7:10 AM) the knives are all gone.

    http://www.spyderco.com/catalog/details.php?product=713
Add the knife to your cart, create an account, etc.
The discount code is BASHFO2011 which will give you 40% off.

09/30/2011 - Logo demo was sent to spanky and can be seen here:
    pw2mucu5upp3yye6h6ax.gif

we are just waiting on the final products to be produced.

07/06/2011 - Our custom spyderco is going to be produced. We got the contract signed and it looks like 600 pieces are going to be made. Which means after their employees get their few and the spyderco collection club gets their 100 pieces. We will probably only have access to right around 450 blades. Bayoushooter members will received a 40% discount code and we will be able to purchase through spyderco's website. If you are even considering buying one I wouldn't hesitate due to the great discount and very few pieces that will be available to the public. The blade will definitely be sought after.....

When I receive the purchase link and discount code they will be sent to paid members first (Premium, Silver, Gold and Sponsors). Exactly 24 hours after I sent that email, I will send another to everyone else.

Just to confirm, it will be an Endura Emerson Opener (waved) with green handle and black blade and the BayouShooter logo engraved on the back of the blade.

Like this but with a full flat ground blade (thanks speedracer for your photoshop mojo)

I don't know if 600 is possible, but if it is I would buy one. If the cost was low enough, I could see picking up more than one.

Well we have 6000 members so if 1 in 10 says they would be down we would be good to go. Inform others about the poll because we really just need to see if the demand is there because if it isn't then no worries.

i think the $100-$120 would be about right. i may pick up more than one if my current employment situation changes.

Could there be variations of the knife?
I'm sure some people like straight edge, others a serrated version.

Endura 4 would probably be the best bet. I do like their Manix and Fred Perrin PPT though.

Think you should start a list of what kind of knife people would want or would want to buy to spark more interest.

I'm fairly certain (since we have to have 600 of them for them to make the run) that they have to be the same.

Im sorry let me clarify, we should(and will have to) stick with one knife, but get peoples interest to see what they want. Such as Id be down for 2 knifes if they were the Endura 4 Model, but maybe interested to buy only 1 if it was a Salt or Manix. However I'm sure Spydeco could offer 300 partially serrated, while the other 300 or whatever amount straight edge.

i use the salt series exclusively at work, and send them in every few months to get sharpened. i think i currently have 8.

they are great knives, and have the best warranty in the biz.

I'd be in, but realistically I don't think 600 is gonna happen.

It won't hurt to try and you never know. The usualsuspectsnetwwork forum I believe did theirs in two 300 blade releases and they sold like wildfire and that wasn't only their forum members. I have been eyeing ebay to get ahold of one for a while no one wants to give theirs up.

Well the design is going to be something we all have input in. So I couldn't even speculate on the base model. I am sure most of us will want something tactical I mean these things are going to have to complement our firearms this is a shooting forum.

Personally I would love to have these colors:
    attachment.php

    On this knife:

Add a bayoushooter logo and some badass saying or something and I would want that knife buried with me.
