Now I am no mechanical engineer, nor am I the sharpest tool in the shed.

But if you look at the placement of the screws that hold the clip to the knife and the hole that the clip has to be placed over.

Then think about the amount of torque that will be placed on the end of the clip where it is attached to the knife.

The base of the clip should be larger so that one screw could be placed at the apex of the hole as it is now and the two bottom screws could be placed to form an acute or equilateral triangle with an equal distance from the center of the hole to center of the screw to the outside edge of the base of the clip.

I expected it to have just bent or to have popped the screws out of the plastic,

If you look there is a steal frame inside the knife that the plastic is attached to. All of the screws that hold the knife together to include the clip are anchored to the inner frame.

OBTW I sent an e-mail to customer service @0650 Friday 13 Jan 12 and it is now just after midnight. No response. Now I will give the folks at Spyderco the benefit of doubt as Monday is a legal holiday and any one that can, will blow off work on the Friday before a legal holiday. But if I do not hear something back by COB Tuesday.....

Just a helpful hint from someone who has dealt with their CS dept in the past, you're better off calling them directly than emailing them....

I just checked on Spyderco's website and they apparently got more or some people didn't go through with their orders but I was just able to order one and the BASHFO2011 coupon code still works!!! Can't wait to get it. It looks so badass! Love the color and the Wave feature.

Just so people know these are still not sold out apparently. Enter the code to turn 134 dollar knife into 88 bucks.

So color me confused... Why are people selling these knives in the classifieds for $120+ when it appears the spyderco website is showing stock on them and the code still works?
