Where are you located?
If you are in North LA I might have something in the $200 range.
Yeah, $100 is very low budget for a gun.
If you want a handgun Hi-Point is the best way to go in that price range.
You could probably get a Taurus pistol or revolver for $200-$250.
Or $250-$300 will get you a S&W 9VE.
For $200-$250 you should be able to find a Hi Point carbine.
Or if you want to go with a shotgun you can get a H&R Pardner Pump for about $150-$200.
If for home defense I would probably go with the Pardner Pump.
Just a few other options.

This, or I would get a Mossberg Maverick 88 pump from Academy. The Maverick will cost more but you'll still be under $200 and a shotgun is a much more effective home defense weapon. Now put your location in your profile before some mean old moderator puts you in the Bearpit.

this. Homeless people have better firearm budgets. Spend $500 and get a Glock
Agree on the shotgun suggestions. If you have a low budget and are looking for home defense a scatter gun would be a much better choice.
these two had me rolling pretty hard
I will second that you save up a little more and get something more reliable though, definitely look at the Maverick 88
