In Detroit Metro we'd see a lot of kids of affluence getting involved in Satanic cults. This killing sounds eerily similar.

Remember: Weapons don't kill; people kill and Satanist kill more than any.

I doubt the satanic kids immediately confess right after. The kid's calm demeanor about the whole thing is eerily similar to other stories I've read involving anti-depressants.

Boy struggled to fight off his assailant

ST. FRANCISVILLE — A Clinton boy killed while riding his bicycle on a trail in The Bluffs on Thompson Creek apparently struggled to defend himself, a prosecutor said Friday.

Twentieth Judicial District Attorney Sam D’Aquilla said Jackson “Jack” Attuso, 8, had cuts on his arm that appeared to be wounds suffered when he fought back against his attacker.

The victim was stabbed repeatedly in the back and front of his body and had his throat cut, West Feliciana Parish Sheriff J. Austin Daniel said Thursday.

Deputies arrested Trevor Reese, 16, shortly after the 1 p.m. Thursday attack and booked him with first-degree murder.

The younger boy also was clutching some hair, and West Feliciana sheriff’s deputies obtained a search warrant to obtain a DNA sample from Reese on Friday for comparison with the evidence left in the boy’s hand, D’Aquilla said.

A West Feliciana Parish grand jury will consider charges next week against Reese.

D’Aquilla said the grand jury is scheduled to meet at the parish courthouse Thursday morning to consider the fatal stabbing and other cases.

Twentieth Judicial District Judge William G. Carmichael, after a closed juvenile hearing Friday morning, ruled that probable cause exists to transfer the case against Reese from Juvenile Court to District Court for prosecution as an adult.

D’Aquilla said Carmichael cited the severity of the crime and the suspect’s age as reasons to move the case. Reese, who lives on Sunrise Way in The Bluffs, will be 17 on July 31.

The Bluffs is an upscale residential development east of St. Francisville with an Arnold Palmer-designed golf course and other amenities.

Maj. Archer Lee and Sgt. Shannon Tilley, Sheriff’s Office investigators, testified during the closed-door hearing.

Daniel said Reese spent Thursday night in a Chalmette juvenile detention center after being booked in the case. He will be housed now in the parish jail or another adult facility, the sheriff said.

Carmichael ordered Reese held without bail but set a bail hearing for Wednesday.

If indicted and convicted of first-degree murder, the defendant cannot be executed because of his age.

Reese is represented by Baton Rouge attorney Lewis Unglesby’s law firm.

“This is a horrible tragedy for everyone,” Unglesby said Friday morning.

“All of the Reese family’s thoughts and prayers are with the young boy’s family. Right now, the focus should be on the loss.

“The legal system will sort it out in time,” Unglesby said.

East Feliciana Parish Clerk of Court David Dart, a friend of the Attuso family, said the boy’s parents, twin brother and elder brother are “devastated” by the youngster’s death and the seemingly random act of violence.

Daniel said Friday that investigators still don’t know what triggered the attack, which occurred as the victim rode his bike between two groups of people, including his mother, on the trail.

The sheriff said deputies can no longer question the teenager because his attorney has instructed him to remain silent, but Daniel said the investigation is continuing.

Daniel said on Thursday that a carpenter working in the residential and golfing development called 911 about 1 p.m. to report that a boy covered in blood came out of the woods and said he had killed another boy.

The sheriff said the construction workers detained the youth until deputies arrived.
