I'm not really clear about what you're saying.

I get the part about your first lesson, but you seem to back away 2 sentences later. If I happen upon someone beating, robbing or raping you, shouldn't I not make your argument my own? Stay in my car and maintain visual contact?
    Lol. Own it cat!

I've seen a lot of adjectives tossed around to describe Zimmerman. Stupid, bone-headed, foolish, dumb. I think it important to add another to the mix.

    Courageous.

Not a skilled or trained man in defense. True. That only makes him more exceptional. An every day schmuck not content to cower in the face of lawlessness. Not a boaster or a blowhard ninja wannabee. Just a likely scared fellow willing to stand up for civilized society. Not content to say 'its not my problem,' and with the conviction to look evil in the eye and say, "No more."

Give a hero a little well deserved respect instead of smug condescension.

I didn't back away, but I suppose it looked like that.

If my husband walked up on a girl being actively raped, yes I hope he'd step in and stop her.
If someone was trying to beat to death a 90 yr old man, same.

Wandering from window to window, I'd have his ass if he followed the guy into the dark.

There are extremes to every situation. The rape, kidnapping, etc are extremes. Martin was not participating in extreme behavior.

Guess I should have made that more clear.

I assume you're assuming that Z was actually investigating T, or attempting to pursue?

I think Z was just getting locations for the police, that he called and was expecting to arrive. I think Z was just observing and never had any intention to confront T. Did he have an obligation to stay in his vehicle? Or did he feel an obligation to the police to have a location that T was last seen, to help police find out what's really going on?

Isn't one of the first questions police ask when going to a suspicious person call is' "Which way did he go?" Z was just trying to get the "Which Way." part right.

Ok again was any life or property in any danger? NOPE. So why take it upon yourself with little to no knowledge of the law and defensive tactics. He went into harms way for what? NO ONE WAS IN ANY DANGER. All he has a one day ccw class and maybe a year of sport MMA.

If you have no clue as to what your actually doing then, why put yourself in this type of situation? Lets all be honest here he had no idea what he was doing.

Do you think one needs to have been through 'cop school' before being able to report some basic information on to police?

Seriously, the guy was trying to be a witness regarding someone acting /very suspiciously/ in his neighborhood, which was experiencing a bit of a crime spree. You act like no one should leave their home or cars, or walk down their street, without training.

Listening to some, you'd think the guy was obligated to allow TM to beat him to death.

And if that would have actually happened, I wonder how many of these protests taking place RIGHT NOW would have taken place?

    Yeah. I wonder.

Where in the Justifiable Homicide law does "probable cause" come into play?

You're phrasing the question as if he has to have permission to do something before he can do it. What law says a person can NOT be a good witness and keep visual contact with someone who is visible from public.

I don't really understand the question.

Probable cause gives grounds to "follow or question" again how do you if your not trained. It's not illegal to follow anyone but, is it right (is it ok for a rapist to follow his next victim to her house?)

Again you can keep visual contact but once you leave your safety to go follow? HUH? Why not wait in the car with blinkers on.

You need if your going to start acting like gz. Use common sense and stop your empowering people with uninformed bull you read on the internet. Why put yourself in harms way if you no clue what your doing and no person or thing is being harmed? That's all I'm saying dude.

Both of these two deserve what they got. One you have no right to put your hands on anyone. Two you have no right to act like a policeman if your not. If you think that's wrong go try either of those two out and tell me how it works out for ya.

Got it. Him stepping into a definite, potentially deadly situation is okay but a moderately risky situation is no go. Better to wait for it to escalate.

Why, whatever do you mean? I'm sure the media would have been IMMEDIATELY contacted by Big Al and Rev. Jackson DEMANDING justice!! Come on, man!

BECAUSE IT'S HIS HOME AND NEIGHBORHOOD and it's been under a rash of invasive crime!

You keep using these terms like "probable cause" and ****... THAT APPLIES TO ARRESTS. That has NOTHING to do with a regular joe observing another person in public. NOTHING.
