The LEO name and badge # is the officer that viewed the video and deemed the violation to be true. There should be info on it for court to try and fight it. That will determine where the ticket came from.

There is no court date, but an application for a "hearing". The fee for the "hearing" is $30. The ticket is $40.

FYI - a powerful laser pointer will destroy the CCD sensor of any camera whether its a speed camera, red light camera, or drone camera.

Here's what I don't get: obviously, this is a business for the City of Baker. But what a retarded business model this is. If I was indeed the driver, I was in the City of Baker to patronize a business there. I might have bought gas while I was there, possibly had lunch.

Say they succeed in shaking me down for $40, that will mean that for as long as I shall live, I will never again stop in Baker and do anything at all to help the economy there. I have the memory of an elephant, I won't forget. Seems like that would be a net loss for them, no?

I didn't pay mine for two years. Then one day the city decided to run license plates down the street I work on and they impounded my car for not paying it. If any of you have ever had your car impounded they make you pay all your tickets including traffic cams. So eventually they will get you some way some how.
Same tactic used by City of N. O.

They boot the car. Yes...you can appeal through the civil court system. But if the boot isn't paid within 2 or 3 days, then they impound your car. They tack on a towing and storage fee. And the appeal takes so long...that when its all said and done, you loose your car. Its a scam and they get you one way or the other. Needless to say, even if you were to fight and eventually win....you'd be without a car for the time it takes to fight them through the legal system. SCAM....SCAM...SCAM

To make matters worse, the fines are paid to a company in Las Vegas. The city's take is like 30% and some out of town entity makes 70%. Its disgusting on so many fronts.

Got one in Baker about 2 years ago and didn't pay. Recieved a couple of notices that a late fee was added then a notice that it was being sent to collections. Never heard anything else and nothing was reported to my credit. From my research they can't report it to your credit because they don't have your SS number. Even if they do you can dispute it because you never signed an agreement to pay like you would with any other credit (credit card, loan, etc). YMMV and don't get pissed at me if you don't pay and swat kicks down your door. :D

The company is contracted out of AZ. Thats why the address is what it is. I used to be a reserve there (12 yrs.)but things like this drove my decision to leave. The phrase that topped it off on this instance was "Its a money maker for the city". That is not the purpose of law enforcement. The Captain used to be the one that reviewed the video and approved the citation . If it doesn't list his name a badge (they use "B" before their number like B-1, B-4 etc.) call the department @ 775-6000 and ask. Last count they had 4 or 5 total. 2 on highway 19 north and south, 2 on plank north and south, and I saw one on Baker Blvd. the other day.

For you, it is a net loss for them.

Unfortunately for the residents in and around Baker, they are the ones who suffer from these cameras the most, and they don't have the option of not stopping in Baker unless they sell their home and move away.

It's another way for a city or town to fleece it's own residents in the false name of safety.

    Bravo for you sir.

I for one will never live in New Orleans because of **** like this (among many other things). Thankfully Jefferson Parish turned off their cameras a couple years ago.

I'm writing my protest of the ticket I just got. Who thinks it will be reversed? Should I be nice? Who reads these things? If it's not a judge or a DA then what's the point?

What I did sometime in the far future or distant past was to slow-roll past the Baker cameras. Trailing rubber and smoke. If I wasn't speeding it obviously wasn't illegal enough for the camera to catch, eh?

Don't know about Baker but I like the ones that have been verified by a LEO and the plate turns out to be a Texas plate not a LA plate

So what happens when the boot is cut off?
