I have been trying to find a set of sights for my ccw while looking around i found a couple that i liked but am unsure of how accurate they are over the stock sights that come on my g19.

Here are a couple links to what i was considering.

    http://www.amazon.com/Ameriglo-Pro-...1401159965&sr=1-2&keywords=ameriglo+pro+i-dot

    http://www.amazon.com/Trijicon-Gloc...-1&keywords=trijicon+hd+night+sights+glock+19

I was hoping to keep something with a bright front site post and a rear sight that I can practice one handed manipulations with.

Both excellent choices, can't go wrong either way. I have both on pistols, the Ameriglos are much easier to be accurate with while the Trijicons are a little faster for me up close. The Trijicons are also easier when it comes to manipulating the slide with the rear sight. Overall I prefer the Ameriglos (although the Hackathorn set is actually my favorite) and the fact that they are 1/2 the price is even better. I like the Hackathorns because I prefer the lower profile and plain black serrated rear.

Comparison shot, you can see how the big/tall Trijicons are more geared to close range speed.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing about the ameriglo sights. Have you noticed any difference in accuracy between any of them on your 19?

Iron sights don't affect mechanical accuracy, I'm not sure I understand the question.

I do find the Ameriglos are easier for me to make accurate shots with than the Trijicons or OEM sights, as the front sight post is narrower, if that's what you mean.

I have those same hackathorn sights on one of my Glock 22's. By far, they are my favorite pistol sights.

That's what I was sort of looking for. From what I was reading reviews wise some people were complaining of the accuracy dropping off after 20 ft or some said that they were shooting more left. I'm not sure how much was the shooter or maybe someone installed the sights improperly.

It's probably like 99% shooter and maybe 1% sights. The sights are largely a preference of the shooter. Sights don't make you shoot better. Proper fundamentals do.

This. Some sights may be better suited for accurate shots (Ameriglo Defoors being an extreme example) and some may be better suited for speed (XS Big Dot being an extreme example). But if installed correctly no set of sights is mechanically more accurate than any other. Anyone claiming a set of iron sights is causing accuracy issues is placing hardware blame on their software problem.

I like these. I'm trying to find the yellow green combination with hack rears having trouble though.

You can simply buy front/rear separate. For a set comparable to the Hacks with tritium rear, you can do a low ProGlo front and Pro Operator rear. I've always just bought sets, but JPB55 is very knowledgeable on exact individual sight Ameriglo combos, I'd shoot him a PM.

The reason I prefer all black rear's is b/c
I believe it causes you to focus more on the front sight post
and not on what's all going on with the rear sights.

Obviously you have to use the rear sights to aim properly
but having too much flash back there seems to distract.

However many folks do like Glock Stock sights
b/c they say the 'U' aids in their sight picture acquisition speed
when shooting with both eyes open.

Do you shoot with both eyes open?

I use Ameriglo Defoor sights. Colored and illuminated sights turn black when you're in the dark and turn on your WML.

    JR1572

The sights I was looking for were for carry I'll probably end up putting these on my night stand gun as well just to keep everything the same it's the only gun I currently run a WML on. I don't think it would make much difference if I had to use it at night in my house for the same reason you stated but for training I'd like to keep everything pretty much the same. I just don't think I need to have a WML on a carry gun.
