The average CCW issue time?

Am I the only one on here that submitted electronically? I would like to see the wait times of others that submitted online as a comparison. So far, it looks like everyone mailed in their applications.

I submitted electronically and did prints in state police headquarter. Did prints Wednesday, and was approved and mailed Thursday morning. Girl told me that every piece of paper you hand in is probably going to add around 30 days.

With a renewal did you still have to do fingerprints? I sent mine electronic.

We were told in the CHL class that a renewal does not require new prints.

And how do you account for me and my father's permit applications? Done online, ONLY the prints mailed, his took about three and a half months mine took four?

There is no reason it should take thirty additional days to receive a piece of paper and do data entry. None.

Do yourself a favor and use the online application, they won't even touch your app for over a month if you mail it or hand in paper.

Your last sentence is incorrect. I handed my paperwork in at LSP and had my Permit several days later.

I have no idea why some take longer than others. I even had an arrest on my record from 1973 Went to clerk's office and got copy of Bill and Minutes and submitted with my application.

My brother and his wife took the course for the first time on Saturday, 23 April....Applied online on Monday the 25th, were accepted and sent their payment links the same day (They did go to LSP Headquarters to submit their prints the day they applied). They received their permits yesterday, May 3rd.

That's pretty quick.


Myself and three other family members took the same class as renewals the same day, and applied online the following day. We were accepted- but have not received a payment link, as of yet. It could have something to do with our permits still being valid, not sure.

But I was shocked how quickly my brother's went through. Impressive.

5/02/16 all ELECTRONIC application submitted with DL and training certificate attached. Application accepted.
5/03/16 ELECTRONIC fingerprints taken at LSP headquarters. Received email to pay, paid.
5/04/16 permit approved.
5/10/16 permit received.


I'm impressed.

I think the reason mine took 5 days was that there was a weekend in there.

Received in the mail today. Originally submitted 1/4. Submitted electronically, mailed in prints. Start to finish four months.

I went to the range Thursday with a doctor from Alexandria. We shot a bunch of ammo up. He told me he applied in person during the first week )not sure of exact date) of January at LSP HQ in Baton Rouge. The man is a upstanding person in the community there and has a clean record. Thus far, he has not heard a thing back from them. Nor has he made any calls down there to check the status.

UPDATE! My application was sent online January 9th and I just received my permit card today. That's 18 weeks (4-1/2 months.)

Just over one month and not a peep yet.
4/16/16 - Prints delivered

Finally submitted mine today. Had some issues with Orleans Clerk of Court.

Mine also took 4 months to the day-I called a few times to check and was told the long wait was due to -A high volume short staff and no plans to add anyone-B when they went electronic bugs in the system-that was my problem-got several e-mails to up date my app computer error they said-and at the time to pay online -the only way to pay-the site was not working called back they were unawhere of the problem spoke to there I-T guy- not a where took 4 hours called me back and walked me through it to see if they fixed it- it was --permit in hand -all this started 12/29/15

Received an email today that my renewal application was accepted...so one month from submittal to acceptance. Paid $128 to LSP via Visa online today. Will let you know when I receive my renewal permit in hand.
