    NOLACOP SAYS.....

The problem is that larger guys, myself included, have a problem with excess body fat around the mid section pushing down on the leather sweatguard causing it to basically block re-entry of the weapon back into the holster.

That makes sense. I'd probably experience similar problems. I am far rounder than I once was. I wonder how horsehide or stronger reinforced leather would help prevent this? Horsehide is substantially stiffer. It would probably dig in more since it's less giving but might prevent the holster from bending excessively due to body shape.

NO, not what he said.... reading comprehension is your friend

AroundLSU's first statment was "Well that's been a rough two hours. We switched to semi-3D targets (just a regular target folded/curved) and one glock malfunctioned.

I then asked, "What model Glock failed? And how?"

AroundLSU's response was "G36, lugs broke."
Two lines lower he added, "Not at this class iirc, awerbuck says he has seen it happen."

So there lies the confusion and it wasn't due to my lack of reading comprehension "Nick". I understand, and very much appreciate, what AroundLSU has been doing by documenting the class and I realize it must be highly distracting for him and that is why I asked for clarification of the contradictory information.

I see now that aroundlsu has made the clarification (thanks!) and I also appreciate the addtional info provided by Bayouslide.

Constructive comments are always preferred to smartass remarks in my book.

Just wait until you guys see this weak hand draw stroke of his....

5 minute time out. No time to upload pics.

Sorry if some of the posts are confusing. I'm typing this all out during hydration breaks.

I hope at least this gives some of you guys of have never had professional training what classes are sorta like (though Louis is a little unique and more frank than others I have been in).

OK we just finished up weak hand draw stroke and it worked out pretty good. We're back in the classroom to talk about flashlight work.

    Pictures coming up.

Oh **** he's recommending the Coast flashlight from Home Depot that I used and referred him to at the shotgun class.

Edit: And is not giving me credit.

    Weak hand draw.

    1. Pull the gun out with your weak hand (duh).

    2. Put it between your legs.

    3. Rotate your grip and draw and fire.

I still have no idea where this range is. I thought it was the one our National Guard unit used off 30 close to St. Gabriel. Unless they completely redid the range in the last year that can't be it.

Louis is telling us a story about carrying spare batteries. He literally caught his vest on fire in front of a class when a dime bridged the connection between two batteries in his pocket.

His point is be careful with flashlights and batteries. A good recommendation is to put electrical tape around the contacts when carrying the spares.
