The episode delivered a 2.12 HH rating and a 1.45 P25-54 rating. This is the highest P25-54 rating for the series

    Ya might also want to read the reviews posted as well!

    Hell check out DAYS of OUR LIVES! They get pretty good ratings as well!
    Now if your argument is it is an entertaining show due to the SOAP OPERA, well you may have a vaild argument, as far as being an intersting show concerning real world firearms and DIY friendly show......IT IS NOT!!

    I must admit, it is quite entertaining watching you guys bow to the SON of GUNS!
    Everyone has to believe in SOMETHING!

    Considering how long "Days of our lives' has been on the air I WOULD call that 'hugely successful'

    I never said it was a "DIY firearms show... and I don't think Will ever has ether.

    Can't say if it's interesting since (Not having a TV) I haven't seen a single episode.

    But the Fact is... More seasons= Success.
    Success= ratings...

    And the discovery channel is a business.

    Gun guys are a microscopic fraction of the populace. This is a fact.

    Haters gonna hate.

    Does RedJacket put out a quality product? Do they stand behind their work?............

    I believe they do, and to the point that if I ever get the AK bug I'll be calling them first.

    As far as the show goes, I find it entertaining as all get out and is produced for that reason, ENTERTAINMENT.
    As far as the "other forums" go, if what they wrote meant a Damn, Will would've been out of business long ago but instead he's enjoying popularity and success.

    When what you do for a living is interesting enough to have a reality show made of it, you'll have the same haters trying to chip away at you. Let's see if you worry about rating as much then.

    Sons of Guns is a TV show, Red Jacket firearms is a weapons manufacturing buisness. The former is a TV show put forward by Discovery to procure money and ratings. The latter is a gun buisness run by my friends. I don't bow to either, however I also do not have a problem seperating reality from television. Sons of Guns is TV. Red Jacket Firearms is reality, not TV reality, reality. If you made an appointment and told em you wanted a trimiese FAL with mucket valves, an a widget paint job, they'd run you off quick, however if it was in the script, you may stand a chance.

    I don't have a horse in the race either- but I can certainly understand why they choose to operate by appointment only.

    They are known mostly as a specialty / high-end custom shop- not a retail store. At the risk of sounding like a snob, I could not even begin to imagine a shop like this dealing with walk-ins from the general public. It would absolutely, for-sure, 100% without a doubt drive them batshit crazy.

    If anyone thinks they are behind schedule now (which has everything to do with their reputation for quality work), I shudder to think how it would be if they tackled walk-ins looking for obsolete gun parts all day.....:doh:

    I would've thought the bigger issue would be tire kickers. If they weren't appointment only, id imagine there would be lines a mile long with people coming in to gawk at things that they would be too scared to own or too cheap to buy.

    Here's the real question: where did the guy come from? I'm sorry, but if I'm driving to go to ANY business for the first time and the trip is more than about 15-20 minutes, I'm calling ahead of time. There's no way I'm going 30 minutes away to a place I've never done business with without calling first. Maybe I just have too much common sense?

    I've overheard the security guard talking to someone who drove all the way from New York State who had to be turned away. Just wanted pics/autographs/hugs, etc, but **** was too busy, no one had a free moment. That's gotta suck. You'd think people would plan their trips on more than faith, and maybe plan a little better.

    People roll up on the shop all day long, sometimes, literally parking in the middle of the street, to walk up. No joke... stopping in the middle of the driving lane of the 4-lane road, and just putting it in park and walking up. There's no way they could operate if they had to make time in their busy days for every single person that walked up. However, they do make exceptions for some people that call up with good reason to need attention.

    Manufacturer =/= Retailer.

    Sounds like you want the show to be something it's not. No one ever tried to make it a DIY gun building show, nor is it advertised as such. I would have thought the "DON'T do this at HOME" in every episode would have made that clear.

    It's about drama, and it sells. All of the stuff is pure acting. They have people on there posing as people they are the opposite of. They have people on that show that don't even own a firearm pretending they want such and such, etc. etc. etc.

    It's TV

    *sigh*
