      The S&W is a model 10 which was an old police gun and a dime a dozen. It all looks like it has been refinished, not original. That is an older gun being that it has the humpback hammer.       Rebarreling a S&W Model 10 Revolver

      The model 10 was a service pistol and wasn't anything fancy. It's still a great built revolver but I wouldn't sink a bunch of money into one. I'd say go with a 586/686 and be able to shoot magnums if you'd like.
