TIFU Got a 9mm round stuck in the chamber of a .40

Because I don't stick my eyeball at the end of the boom tube when I'm not 100% sure? lol

TIFU Got a 9mm round stuck in the chamber of a .40

Of course. It was A-1 Gun and Repair in Metairie. I believe his name was Rob. He definitely had the know-how and tools to fix it quickly.

TIFU Got a 9mm round stuck in the chamber of a .40

I took it to a gunsmith yesterday and he was able to fix it in about 5 minutes. Turns out the round wasn't live, but the casing had stretched out and deformed inside the chamber. He had the proper tools and it still took him some elbow grease to get it dislodged. Life lesson learned.

TIFU Got a 9mm round stuck in the chamber of a .40

rofl! Good idea! I tried throwing it at the floor a few times, but no dice. I got mine factory fixed by Sig so I'll have to try another method. Thanks for the suggestions. I tried a dowel down the barrel (held with locking pliers so as to keep my fingers away from the bangy end) as well as some...

TIFU Got a 9mm round stuck in the chamber of a .40

Went to put a few rounds downrange today with a few handguns. Unloaded the hollow points from my 9mm to load cheap plinking ammo. When reloading a mag for my Sig P320 .40 I wasn't paying attention and apparently picked up a few of the 9mm sitting on the table and got them mixed in. Long story...

      Who offers individual carbine training?

Might be a bit late jumping in the bandwagon, but another +1 for Phobos from me. I took one of their mid-level handgun classes and learned a lot.

      Printing La. CCW Permit application

I just went through CCP renewal myself last month. Even though they tell you to print the form, it is not printable (or downloadable). lol. That's the state for you. So don't worry, you're not doing anything wrong. I ended up just taking a couple of screenshots and saving them. Should I ever...

What's your goto palm-sized pocket pistol?

lol. Yeah, I think I've gotten spoiled by how small the LCP is. It's the only one I carry when I'm out doing yardwork, usually in loosely waisted gym shorts, so even most sub-compacts are either too big or too heavy. The Kel-Tec is a sweet pocket gun, but it's not 9mm, which is what I was...

What's your goto palm-sized pocket pistol?

I love a lot of things about my Ruger LCP. It is so tiny that it slips easily into a pocket, even when wearing gym shorts, and it doesn't have protruding sights or corners to get hung up on fabric. But I think I'm going to get something in 9mm. What are your favorite micro handguns? Is there...

Fishing in Bogue Chitto? (The park or the river)

I'm planning to spend a few days camping at Bogue Chitto State Park in a few weeks. There are lakes (ponds) on the campground and the Bogue Chitto river passes through as well, but I can't seem to find any info on fishing there. I called the park and they were nice, but didn't know a thing about...

Nick's range - 30mins West of NO - Good experience

Over the weekend I went to Nick's Shooting Range in Garyville. It was my first trip to a public rifle range (just done longarms on private land and pistols at ranges in the burbs) and had a great time. The staff were all friendly and easy to work with even though it was pretty packed through...
