Last large hail storm here was in ‘12. We had just remodeled and put on a new roof in ‘11. Hail was golf ball to base ball size then. Roofers and body shop were booked solid for a year plus.

Not exactly minnows but we have a few bait fish traps at Toledo Bend and use a block of white styrofoam. Catch a ton of baitfish, like little sun perch.

Steaks are easy to cook in a small cast iron skillet over coals. If we stay 2 or 3 nights I’ll precook a chili, red beans and rice, soup etc and freeze it. Use it as ice in the cooler and cook/reheat in a single pot for a hot meal.
It’s, with extremely few exceptions, the main/only method of farming for profit. It is standardized but it ain’t easy.
