Thought you all would like this. My platform, Main Pass 261, during lightning storm a few nights ago. Those of you who have been offshore know how loud and thunderous these events can be.
I was right next to spar rig about 28 miles off the mouth of the Mississippi when a storm system blew through at 0300 August 2nd. I can't say I enjoyed the experience, 31' open boat, the lightning was either hitting the rig or hitting the water about 100' away. Wind+waves+rain=misery
