$112 for vehicle regeristration renewal (lisence plate sticker renewal ) !!!???

Just recieved a $112 vehicle regerstration renewal in the mail . I cant ever remember this being this expensive and i've renewed plenty vehicles in the past . Should this be right for a 07 GMC1500 ??? Any comments .

Is that for CA or LA???(joking, of course) Ca vehicle reg fees are outrageous. However, I'm not on the up and up, but that does seem REALLY high. I registered and transferred a 2005 Ram 1500 from out of state in January of 10, and my bill wasn't that high.

Registration fees go by the price of the vehicle and by the type of plate and late fees if applicable. What kind of plate do you have on the truck?

I seem to remember this being around $10 a year and normally for 4 years . So around $40-50 was what i was thinking .

It's a basic crew cab 2007 GMC 1500 with a normal plate . The renewal paper has weight 10000lbs but the truck is actually 7000lbs ( also 7000lbs on regerstration ). Paid $24500 less than a year ago for it .

I find that system retarded myself. We pay for nice things, so we have to pay more to drive them? I can promise my 30k jeep is much better for the road system then the 1984 Cadillac with rims and pieces of metal falling off destroying the roads. But I gotta pay for it.

They just changed all b plates to a 4 year renewal from a 1 year. I got a letter about that from my title clerk this morning.

475. Minimum licenses

Notwithstanding the provisions of R.S. 47:508, the minimum annual license fee for each vehicle subject to a license fee under this Chapter shall be ten dollars ($10.00), except that the minimum annual license fee shall be twenty-eight dollars ($28.00) for trucks weighted at ten thousand pounds or less as stated in R.S. 47:462 and that the minimum annual license fee shall be three dollars ($3.00) for private passenger automobiles licensed under R.S. 47:463, for motorcycles licensed under R.S. 47:465, and for animal drawn vehicles licensed under R.S. 47:470.
