has anyone noticed that the smaller the box of rounds you purchase the cheaper per round it is, take for instance, academy indepence 5.56 20rd box for 8.99, but if you were to purchase the 150 rd box it is 89.99, is it just me or are they trying to steer people from buying in bulk for the 20rd box comes out to .4495 per rd and for the 150rd box it is .5999 per rd.

The way I understand things, thid would not be illegal since it was a magazine transaction. It's not like you need to pass a background check to buy a mag. Now to do this as a work around Academy's store policy might be reason enough for the manager to ban the guy. Either way, seems like the manager is just being a jerk. And all the random stranger had to do is say "no" and leave it at that.

I for one am going to remember these douche bags when all this shortage business is done with. I'll be sure to buy from elsewhere. It may be the same retailer I buy from, but it will definitely be from a different location. At least this will drop the sales figures of the douche bag locations.

yes the academy employees are purchasing out all the mags, i got 4 of them the other night from the gun counter manager, but i ended up having to purchase 4 new metal ak mags at 25.00 a piece for him, and the only way i could break even and not really break even was to sell some used metal mag's at 25.00 a piece just to break even.

Denham put some 223 out this morning around 7:30 but sold out by 9. Are you saying they put some more out?

so does academy on ambassador, and plenty of 5.56 along with 22lr....their shelves have been spread out with shotgun shells but their also starting to get regular rifle ammo in to fill the shelves, still no damn 3030 rds which that is the only rifle i own that i don't have ammo for, but managed to pick up 7 boxes of buckshot at 4.99 a box.
